Statement from 2017 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting

The Nebraska Peace Foundation put forth a resolution at the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders meeting on May 6, 2017, asking Warren Buffet and his shareholders to divest from fossil fuel. Though we were dismissed without comment by Warren Buffett, we still think it is important that the statements given by the testifiers be read by all. Mann, Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science and Director of the Penn State Earth System Science Center, is internationally renowned for his ground-breaking research on climate change—including the famed “hockey stick curve.” The author of more than 200 publications and three books, Professor Mann was selected by Bloomberg News as one of the fifty most influential people in 2013.
